Pacific Northwest Native Shrubs

Shrubs are the backbone of most landscapes, whether public or private. They form the framework in which the gardener creates the reality of a botanical image. Shrubs bridge the pathway between tree and perennial, growing midway between the sky and the earth.

The choices of Pacific Northwest Native shrubs are wildly diverse. Some, like Creeping Oregon Grape (Mahonia repens) and Kinnikinnik (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), hug the ground. Some, like Ocean Spray (Holodiscus discolor) and Indian Plum (Oemleria cerasiformis), grow up to 20 feet or even taller. Many, such as our Pacific Rhododendron (Rhododendron macrophyllum), have show-stopping blooms and are quite well-known all over the world. But others, such as the Devil's Club (Ophopanax horridum), are rarities though they have been growing freely in the wild for centuries.

Our Complete Online Catalog lists all shrubs we currently grow. Check our Sale site for seasonal and special sales. Many of our shrubs are also available to professionals in large lots as Wholesale Bareroot or Wholesale Containers.

At the links listed below are sites which give detail of a growing number of Northwest Native Shrubs.
